Why is so much emphasis placed on Fluorescent Light Bulbs rather than LED lights?
Everyone says, "use fluorescent compacts, they use less electricity!!"
But..I worry about them because they contain vaporized mercury.
LED bulbs, however, use even LESS electricity, and last even longer, much longer. They are also brighter.
So, why doesn't anyone ever talk about LED lights?
CFL's are cheaper than LED for the end user. Large scale LED lighting is not practical yet as the heat issue is still a problem. Lighting large enough to light a room runs way to hot for normal everyday use.
The cost of the bulbs is the biggest setback. LED's in any size cost more than CFL's as a general rule.
LED is coming and I support it but it is not ready quite yet.
