grow light timer
Is this the right kind of light bulb for a 2.5 gal minibow?
For growing plants and the right wattage and such? Someone told me to switch to flourescent since the included one is incandescent. It's 10 watt. But it says not to use with timers; why would that be? And not to use dirctly exposed to water? Would those of you who've seen the minibows think it would be "exposed?" I don't want my fish getting electrocuted. Here's a picture if it matters.
It should be fine as long as there is some kind of barier between the bulb and the water (a plastic cover, in most cases). I doubt that there will be any trouble if you use it with a timer... they may just want you to leave it on longer so you have to replace it more often... That's the right light for plants, though.
