grow light t8

Planted Aquarium Help...?
I have a 46 gallon tank and I bought 5 bunches of Water Wysteria, 3 moss ball, some xmas moss and java moss. The guy said it would be ok in low light and still grow. My bulb is a 30 watt Natural Daylight T8 bulb. About 3 years old. I go in the LFS today and he tells me to get this High Output light with 2 bulbs in it. Its like $80! I thought these plants would grow fine in my current setup. Any suggestions? can I just go in home depot and get 2 small lamps and put them next to the tank?
The mosses and the moss balls (which actually are a type of algae) don't need much light and will do fine. The Wysteria does prefer a little more light, but if I were you, I'd give it a try. If the Wysteria dies, try finding some Guppy grass (Najas guadalupensis) in stead. It requires less light and grows under just about any conditions. I have it in many of my tanks and many of my livebearer young survive because of this plant alone.
