grow light racks

Is it a bad idea to put my 4 week old tomato seedlings in my south facing window?
I have 20 seedlings in 4 inch pots under grow lights with supplemental window light. They are doing fabulously well; nice, strong stocky stems and a good amount of foliage. However, they are getting too tall (and wide) for my make-shift seedling rack.
I was wondering if they would be fine if I just put them on a table in a south facing window and turned them every day. It is either that or I take apart my whole rack to adjust it (not a fun idea since I have a multitude of peppers, onions, celery, broccoli, herbs and flowers already on there).
You can put them in the south facing window, providing they get at least six hours of sun a day, or else they will get spindly. If it is not too cold where you're at you could plant them directly in the garden. Good luck.
