Themes for young boys rooms that they can grow with?

I am looking into redoing my little boys' rooms. My oldest is 2, my other son is 9 months. Right now they both have a light blue and green baby-ish theme going on. I want to create a design in each of their rooms that they can grow with--at this point it is hard to tell what their interests are, so it's kind of in my hands. For the 2 year old I have thought about a cabin/outdoor theme and for my 9 mo. old I've thought about airplanes---does anyone have any theme suggestions other than these? Or any decorating ideas for the two mentioned above? Any help is MUCH appreciated! Thanks!

I did my grandson's room with a sky ceiling and khaki walls. I made denim valences and hung vintage bi-planes hung from the ceiling. It helped sell their house. You don't say if your toddler will have a twin or toddler bed. Here are some links to boy bedding. Good luck!
