Any tips...?

Okay...so my hair is black with brownish/redish highlights. I like my hair and all but I want it to be more , y'know, "edgy". I got layers last summer but it grew out and now it doesn't look to flattering. I'm thinking of getting more highlights on my hair like light brown or pink [like Avril Lavigne's...I'm a big fan]. Some asians in my school have this really cool haircut and
I was like what do you call your cut? They said it was layers......but they have bangs with it which I love [it was different from what I got].......Soooooo.........yea, any tips? 'Cuz I love my hair and I don't want to act all stupid and make my hair look dumb....Also, I don't like my hair dry..

Ask one of them if you can take their picture and then show it to your hairdresser, or you could look in magazines and show your hairdresser a picture. If you can't find a picture, tell her exactly what you just said and she'll do your hair just like that.
