Ballast Grow Light
will my plants still alive?
my 29 gallon
ok so my t5 ballast want on and i'm on a low budget, so as of now i got my old light on on tank a coralife 50/50 20W 6,000k and a small 10W coralife 50/50 10,000k. i know those light are saltwater but i just wanted to if my plant will stay alive for now until i got a new light system. if so how long? i'm not try not make them grow fast just want them to stay alive. i'm also using Kent pro-plant..so will it stay alive
T12 20W 50/50 actinic 50% daylight 50% 6000k on 24inch bulb and i made a diy light that hold a small 10W 50/50 same kind of bulb but 10000k.
i also have power glo 20W 18000k 24 in extra should i replace that with the 50/50??
Those are close enough to a usable spectrum. In any case, they would be better than nothing.
When you say 50/50 is this 50/50 actinic, or 50/50 10K/6K (daylight)?
The actinic definitely wont help. The main concern assuming that you can afford a ballast some time in the near future, is algae growth.
